San Francisco Secedes from the United States

And declared itself a kingdom.

Today, we’re sharing the first public look at Frisco, a Game of Thrones-style fantasy in modern San Francisco.

Welcome to the Kingdom

Frisco begins after San Francisco leaves the United States and Mayor Emmett Perez declares himself king.

Politicians, tech moguls, activists, cults, rival claimants, old legends, and a destructive animal force begin fighting over what the city becomes next. At the center is Maggie Perez, a brilliant social worker and advisor to her father who wants nothing to do with inherited power, until the kingdom begins pulling her toward the throne.

This first look introduces the world through the YouTubers, politicians, and breaking-news voices reacting to its birth. It seemed like the right way to enter a modern epic fantasy. If a major American city suddenly left the country, most of us would probably learn about it from somebody asking us to smash the like button before explaining the collapse of the federal order.

From there, the series expands into a larger story about power, ambition, integrity, mythology, political absurdity, and what happens when a golden city tries to turn itself into its own legend.

A man claiming to be the long-dead Emperor Norton has returned to demand his throne. Unexplained animal attacks are spreading across the city. Competing factions are positioning themselves for power.

And something appears to be waking up.

What Happens Next

This reel is the first public step toward producing Frisco.

We’re now building the audience, financing, producing relationships, and partnerships needed to bring the first episodes to life. Over the coming months, we’ll share more of the characters, mythology, production process, and strange corners of the kingdom.

After watching, reply and tell us what grabbed you most or what part of the world you want to see more of.

San Francisco has always had enough mythology, ambition, beauty, hypocrisy, idealism, and madness to support an epic fantasy.

We’re simply making it official.
