After San Francisco secedes from the United States and Mayor Emmett Perez declares it a kingdom, a city of hippies, tech bros, politicians, activists, a cult worshipping a historic legend , and a destructive animalistic force fight over what comes next. At the center is Maggie Perez, a brilliant social worker and advisor to her father, who wants nothing to do with inherited power, until her father’s kingdom starts pulling her toward the throne.
